New York State Solar Farm (NYSSF,) a local, family owned Solar installation company operating within the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas since 2008, and SunPower Master Dealer, is excited to announce their participation in a Solarize Hudson Valley campaign that will serve host community residents within the City of Newburgh and the Village of Highland Falls, as well as all of Orange County this summer and fall.
Solarize Hudson Valley is sponsored by Catskill Mountainkeeper and Sustainable Hudson Valley, and funded primarily by the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) through the Cleaner, Greener Communities program. It is a community based Solar campaign that works to simplify the Solar process, build consumer confidence through education on the benefits of Solar via local events and neighbor to neighbor marketing, and provide limited time discounted pricing on the purchase or lease of Solar systems. NYSSF and Solarize share a common goal of granting neighbors energy independence, and improving the health of their Hudson Valley home through reduced reliance on fossil fuels, and taking greater advantage of the clean and renewable energy source that is our Sun. The significant energy cost savings homeowners will benefit from as a result of a Solar installation are an added bonus.
As one of two residential installers chosen to participate in the Orange County campaign, NYSSF brings to the table the benefits of SunPower Solar systems. SunPower is the only panel manufacturer to offer a 25-year warranty that covers system production, parts, and labor, and SunPower panels are the most efficient, powerful, aesthetic and longest lasting on the market. SunPower’s patented technology is what powers NYSSF’s offices and the homes of several of its employees. NYSSF offers roof and ground mount solutions, including solutions for metal, flat and other less common roof types, and lease, loan and cash purchase options, providing an escape from ever rising utility costs, tax benefits for those who qualify, $0 down, and savings from day one!
As a participant in three previous Solarize campaigns, NYSSF has installed just under half a Megawatt of Solar, and helped over 60 families to go green and save thousands on their utility bills as a result of participation. Outside of Solarize, NYSSF has installed close to 8 Megawatts of Solar for nearly 1,000 families since its inception. To give just two examples of the environmental impact of these systems, their combined Solar generating efforts equate to an offset of 727,528 gallons of burned gasoline, or allowing 167,562 new tree seedlings to perform their C02 harnessing magic for ten years!
Richie Rosencrans of the Solarize installer selection committee, member of the City of Newburgh Architectural Review Commission, and lifelong resident of Newburgh sheds some more light on the significance of Solarize in the communities it serves, above and beyond environmental and financial impact:
“This is a huge decision for me to make regarding the City of Newburgh; for my whole life it’s been a community which lacks any real financial freedom/power of choice in their fate. I do feel we are helping it gain independence from a dominant power structure. I know a whole community can’t make this choice and so we are its representatives, but my conscience can’t help but ask: who chose us?
Overall, and in light of current political affairs, I think we have a moral imperative to decentralize power and choice in the USA, especially in her LMI communities. I look forward to helping people with the choices they will make for their futures. Thanks for allowing my thoughts here.
Peace on you all.
