Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a new role in the organization’s team & will support efforts to build the organization’s capacity to tell its story. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong written communications skills, proficient with design tools & social media marketing, to join a passionate & growing team in support of meaningful work. 

Essential Functions: 

• Design, creation & distribution of content across digital, social media & print communications platforms, maintaining a consistent brand image 
• Management & growth of company social media platforms
• Social media follower engagement
• Draft one blog post per week on relevant industry topics
• Create & manage email marketing campaigns
• Capture photo & video content for communications collateral 
• Review & edit collateral against organization brand guidelines 
• Track & compile monthly KPI’s across channels 
• Track & report on social media following & reach 
• Track & respond to customer feedback across channels 
• Maintain all communications files including photos & videos, boilerplate content, & other communications collateral for regular use
• Coordinate with management & other company teams
• Coordinate with external marketing vendors as needed

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements: 

• 1-2 years of experience in a marketing or communications role 
• Demonstrated skill in creating polished collateral for print & digital use; experience in Canva & Adobe design suite preferred 
• Able to provide evidence of strong social media marketing skills
• Able to provide evidence of excellent writing & editing skills
• Able to communicate clearly & effectively; meticulous eye for detail 
• Strong storytelling & communication skills 
• Strong organizational & project management skills
• Experience working with Constant Contact or other email marketing platform 
• Experience in the solar industry preferred 
• Enthusiasm for renewable energy & the mission of New York State Solar Farm
