Judd Hirsch is an actor best known for his role in the “Independence Day” movies. An interesting detail about his life is not known by many; he is an endorser for renewable energy. When he constructed his home in the Catskills some 25 years ago, he installed a geothermal heating system to reduce his energy demand. In 2013, he attempted to install a 177 foot tall wind turbine generator on his property. Unfortunately for Mr. Hirsch though, he met retaliation from his neighbors who thought that the turbine would disturb the tranquility of the area. Recently, he decided to turn to a much quieter way to produce electricity, and that was Solar. Shortly after he initially contacted New York State Solar Farm, we installed a 50 kW ground mounted system on his property.
